Barack Obama speaking in Houston, Texas on the...

I’ve been floored by the erraticism of the McCain campaign and inspired by the steady hand of the Obama campaign, also. Sarah Palin? Really?!?!?

All I can say is, come Nov. 4, I will be watching and waiting to celebrate the election of an intelligent president for the first time in a decade.

hat tip to John Cole, this bit of fail:

I am aware of all internet traditions and also of literary conventions in which placing something in quotes or in a blockquote means that your are quoting that person.

Quote of the day.

No matter how much lipstick is applied, it’s still a pig. The effort by republicans to “rebrand” themselves as “change agents” is laughable.

GOP leaders sought yesterday to “re-brand” the party with a new slogan and renewed pledges of fiscal rectitude and limited government. But the slogan — “The Change You Deserve” — came under mocking fire, because it parallels Democratic presidential front-runner Barack Obama’s “Change We Can Believe In” motto and it mirrors the advertising slogan for the antidepressant Effexor.

Change you deserve? Please. WTF have you people been doing for 7 1/2 years?

Personally, I hope they all lose their seats. Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of liars.

Heh.

And you know what? They may be assholes, or jerks, or whatever term you want to use, but they sure as hell didn’t run this economy into the ground. They aren’t responsible for turning a huge surplus into a several hundred billion dollar deficit. I have yet to read any memos from Barbra Streisand detailing how we should spy on American citizens.

I’m sick of the Rev. Wright “scandal,” such that it is. I am ashamed of our media, the Nero of contemporary political commentary.

Let’s get one thing clear - a pastor isn’t a politician. Wright does not = Obama. If you think they are one and the same, then give me your ballot, putzhead (yeah, I’m talking to you, Sean Hannity). You don’t deserve a vote. WTF!?!

Of the myriad problems our country faces over the next four years - rising gas prices, food prices, a war without end, housing meltdown, financial shenanigans, outsourcing U.S. productivity - you want to peddle this bullshit to us?

WWE? WTF?

April 22, 2008 | Leave a Comment

Look, I’ve got as much of a sense of humor as the next person, but when the candidates for the most powerful person in the world are shilling for the WWE, I have to say enough is enough!

Horrible debate

April 17, 2008 | Leave a Comment

My evening was wasted watching a “debate” that was little more than a hatchet job by “journalists” who avoided asking questions about the actual issues facing America - things like health care, the financial crisis, the environmental crisis, etc. - wallowed in the mud for 45 minutes before asking a single question about policy.

It was a gang attack, with Clinton being joined by George Stephanopolous and Charlie Gibson. And what was Stephanopolous doing moderating a debate that included his former boss’s wife?

Sickening.

When I first started AWS several years ago, I spent time fretting about how I would get people to link to the weblog. I e-mailed folks, I participated in blog carnivals. I commented on various blogs. I submitted the blog to the Truth Laid Bear ecosystem. This time around, I don’t care. If you read this, fine. If not, fine. I only know that I have to pay for my sins. I was wrong. Seriously Wrong. Incredibly, Stupendously wrong about George W. Bush. I’m posting because I have something to say about how f@#$$d up this country has become over the past few years. Read on if you dare. Drop a comment. They will appear. But I’m not pimping. I’m not looking for links. I’m pissed. I’m bitter. I can’t stand the thought of another four years of Bush policies. So be it.

Well, well, well. It’s been almost 2 years since I posted to a weblog under the infamous “Arguing With Signposts” namesake (here’s the last post I made via Archive.org). What a long, strange 2 years it’s been.

This blog is a (small) attempt to undo some of the damage I did while I was blogging in the past.

I’m taking something of a cue from John Cole. Cole voted for George Bush twice (I think I only voted for him once, which was once more than I should have). Yet Cole has repented from his past. I’m doing so now.

George Bush has totally wrecked the presidency. His economic policies, his war policies, his ignorance of reality, his approval of torture, his laissez faire attitude toward the creaking health care industry (do I really need to go through the list?) have pushed me over the edge.

I’m voting for Obama. I’m bitter, and this blog is back. Expect no less than the same scathing commentary and photoshoppery - but this time, I guess I’m a tin-foil hat wearing libuhral instead of a wing nut reactionary.

Bitter? Hell, yes I’m bitter.

But I also have hope:
